If you are getting married on or close to Christmas, you might want to carry a bridal bouquet that has a full Christmas theme or even just a few embellishments that acknowledge that you are getting married on the holiday. No matter what other types of flowers are in the bouquet it is easy to add a touch of St. Nick simply by adding accents like poinsettias, berries, pinecones, holly leaves, ivy and mistletoe to the mix. If you want your bouquet to smell like Christmas, try adding evergreen sprigs such as cedar, spruce or pine.

You could also consider adding bells to the mixture. In many cultures bells are considered to be good luck as they call to angels and fairies. Charms in the form acorns, chestnuts and Christian crosses are also appropriate for this style of bouquet.

To give more Christmas characteristics to your wedding bouquet, choose colors that reflect Christmas. For example, red, green, gold, silver or even burgundy ribbons wrapped around the bouquet or trailing from it speaks of Christmas. Gingham and mint or red striped ribbons also convey the same message. You might also want to consider wrapping the bouquet with silver or gold foil ribbons or even carrying a candy cane in the bouquet.

For your bouquet to ultimately speak of Christmas cheer, it should be primarily red and green in color. This is not difficult to achieve at all. You could try missing red callas, roses, anemones and poinsettias with green eucalyptus, ivy and cymbidium orchids (which are known for their green color.)
