If you have a flower girl at your wedding ceremony then you are going to have to choose a flower girl basket. You might not think that there is much of a selection when it came to this type of item, but the choice of styles, fabrics, materials and colors when it comes to this type of flower girl accessory can seem practically endless. One place to go where they have a great selection is The Wedding Outlet. Another great site is MyWeddingFavors.com.
Most of the time these flower baskets are white but they can be any color. Some are made out of straw or woven wood as well. However the most popular ones are made out of white and pastel satins and often boast all kinds of charming details such as bows, pearls, rhinestones and fabric flowers. It is also not uncommon for these baskets to trail a bit of ribbon or sport a bit of flowing chiffon fabric as well.
Here are some favorites:

Beach Collection Flower Girl Basket - embellished with real starfish, pearls and crystals. $26
Flower Girl Basket Tote - matte satin with two bows and pearls. $18
Sweet Bow Flower Basket - features a bow on each side, simple yet darling. $21
Ivory Rose Flower Basket - pearl handle and flower applique accent have a gorgeous effect. $11.89

My florist showed me a great alternative - a flower girl wreath or hoop! Although visions of it becoming a “necklace” or hula hoop during the wedding did flash through my head, it was different enough and pretty enough to catch my attention. Also works well if there are 2 girls or if they are under the age of 3. Gives them something to hold on to and someone to guide them.
