wedding flowersYou don’t have to sacrifice the beauty of perfect wedding flowers in order to save money. Did you know that planning the date of your ceremony carefully can really help you to save money?

Consider the following tips and tricks if you want beautiful flowers but don’t have a lot of money to spend:

Tip #1: Plan your wedding around Christmas or Easter.

If you plan to get married in a church, during the Christmas and Easter seasons, the sanctuary will already be decorated. This might take a little extra planning with the church committee, but in most cases, if you’re willing to hold your wedding on a date that there are no special events planned, you won’t have to order any flowers at all for the chapel! If you aren’t planning to get married in a Christian church, plan your wedding around the big holiday celebration for your faith.

Tip #2: Avoid a mid-February wedding.

Annually, flower prices sky rocket in February. Valentine’s Day means that you’ll pay more for roses, alone with all other types of flowers. Everyone raises their costs! By waiting just a month, you can save thousands of dollars.

Tip $3: Plan your wedding during the growing season of your favorite flowers.

You’ll save money if you order flowers that are in season. Depending on where you live and what kind of flowers you like, this isn’t always possible, but you should at least talk to a florist or do a little online research before the date is set in stone.

Remember, flowers are a huge expense. Although you might not want to spend a lot of money on them, be prepared for your florist to snag a significant chunk of your budget.
