In a press release recently, it was announced that model Kate Moss has booked her wedding in a former power station. The station looks very Art Deco. She has also said that it will be a power wedding with white flowers. Most people associate white flowers with innocence and daintiness and not power so what could Kate be thinking?
There are definitely some white flowers that are less girly than others. A really good example is the calla lily, which is a dead serious power flower. Tulips also look very formal in white, especially the ones with single petals. Double pedaled tulips are also gorgeous and a little more feminine. One of the most feminine of white flowers is the white orchid. They look very elegant. They also signify power because they simply are so tall, stateside and also expensive.
Power flowers should also be placed in singles, threes or other odd numbers. The more chaotic and bunched up flowers look, the less like power flowers they look like. No baby’s breath for Kate Moss. The minute you add baby’s breath you diminish the powerful effect of your white bouquet by ten times!
